The Parks & Recreation Director oversees the activities and operations of the Parks and Recreation department for the City of Forest Grove. This includes the planning, development, operations, management, and maintenance of the aquatic center and parks facilities and associated personnel. It also includes the planning, development, and management of community recreation activities. This position develops and implements departmental goals, objectives and policies; directly supervises parks & aquatic supervisors, coordinates activities with other departments and outside agencies; and provides highly complex administrative support to the City Manager.

The minimum qualifications include:
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in public administration, business administration, recreation administration or a related field.
Six years of increasingly responsible parks and recreation program administration experience including three years of management and administrative responsibility
